Installation
The preparation of the sub base for the new lawn is all important. First of all the existing grass must be dug off down to a good firm base level.
Once achieved, the surrounding borders can be put into place. If the borders are not formed tanalised strips can be used to form the design shape the area and secured with wooden stakes.
Once the shape of the grass has been achieved mill waste is then added to the correct height so that the grass will finish level with all the borders formed. The mill waste is then compacted and a light covering of sharp sand is levelled to give the correct base levels.
The carpet grass is then laid over the area and cut to the correct shape. If joints are needed the carpet is laid together and opened. The tape is laid out and the binding glue added. The carpet is then folded back together and gently walked along at the seam to press the joints together avoiding any rippling.
Once laid, sand is added to the pile. This is best achieved with a stiff brush and brushed into the pile to the desired height. Silica sand should be used for the infill and is available from ourselves or from most builders merchants.
